I had a room-mate who would help himself to leftover pizza. My solution was
to simply leave the old box, empty, in the fridge.

The next time I got pizza, I put the leftovers in the old previously empty
box. It never occured to him to recheck it.

When I finished the new leftovers, I replaced the empty box with the new
empty box. Room-mate got fooled twice:
  1) not checking empty box for new leftovers
  2) checking new empty box and not finding leftovers.

<this counts as a food hack, right? :->
