ObRealHack:
Ok, here goes. Trying to record some animation from an X workstation to
Betacam via a scan convertor (tee's the signal to the monitor off to a
seperate output).
Result: one frame then blank.
Problem: Dumbass X screensaver.
Bigger problem: No idea about the magical incantation to switch it off,
no man pages, no other people at 3am, no time to waste. [BTW, xset -s
off, obviously]
Solution: Ingredients - One fan, the sort that moves back and forth; 18
inch metal rod from a folder in a filing cabinet, roll of parcel tape.
Procedure - tape one end of metal rod to the fan, the other to the mouse.
