Caulixtla-to-iso-cevo-random(-v2).python: This is an older version of the random map generator that generates, on standard out, a randomized version of the Cauxlixtla map. In order to make the game more suitable for C-evo (as opposed to Civ4) use, 35% of forests are made grassland, 10% of jungle is made swamp (so we can have swamp on the map, which Civ4 does not have), and 30% of jungle is made grassland.

Once the map is randomized, we then find suitable player starts then generate a fully playable C-evo map on standard out. The generator makes sure there are at least two human starts and at least seven total starts on the map.

The program optionally takes a single argument: The random seed.

Caulixtla {1-player|2-player}.cevo map: A conversion of a single large continent of a map generated with Cephalo's Civilization 4 "Perfect World" map script. There is both a one-player version of this map and a 2-player version that AI testing indicates to be balanced. The .python file is a Python script used in the process of generating the C-evo map file. This script does not generate a playable map; I edited the map by hand after running the script.

There is no swampland on this map, for the simple reason Civilization 4 has no swamps.

The map has two large deserts on it (large deserts are a feature of Perfect World to better simulate the real world); while large deserts don’t disrupt balance in Civilization 4 (desert land is pretty much useless unless there is oil or an oasis in there), they probably make the Hanging Gardens a game-breaking very powerful world wonder in C-evo.

Caulixtla-to-iso-cevo-random-form2.python: This is an improved version of Caulixtla-to-iso-cevo-random.python that, by turning the map 90 degrees, allows more small islands in the original Civ IV Caulixtla map be in the C-evo map.

Caulixtla-form2.cevomap: Example output of “Caulixtla-to-iso-cevo-random-form2.python”. Rename this something like “Caulixtla-2.cevo map” to use in C-evo.

Caulixtla-rng.zip: The above script, along with seven maps generated using the script. The number in the filenames is the random seed.

Caulixtla.zip: A zipfile with a straight conversion of the Caulixtla map (no swamp, little grassland) as well as a small image of how the world looks to give the map a C-Evo preview.
